GROWTH

Our approach

By combining strategic investment, commercial expertise, and global scale, we unlock opportunities across new markets, platforms and technologies. This strengthens Vodafone’s position, helps us shape a more open, competitive telecoms sector, and enables us to capture value adjacent industries.

Our focus areas:

Strategic investments

Strategic investments

Investing in connectivity through telecoms and infrastructure, and innovation and emerging technology ventures beyond traditional connectivity.

Partner Markets

Partner Markets

Serving telecom operators globally to help them grow by leveraging Vodafone’s expertise, scale, technology and brand.

Strategic Investments

We invest in a diverse portfolio that delivers value across core connectivity, infrastructure, and emerging platforms. These assets support Vodafone’s commercial priorities, unlock and generate value from our operations, and ensure we remain at the forefront of wider industry innovation.

Telco Operators

We hold significant stakes in major telecom operators, contributing strategic guidance and expertise across commercial, technology, product, and customer capabilities. While these businesses operate independently, they benefit from our involvement, allowing us to remain present and influential in key markets without direct ownership, unlocking both financial return and operational learning.

Key investments include:

Vodafone Ziggo (Netherlands)

A leading converged operator, co-owned with
Liberty Global.

TPG Telecom (Australia)

A major fixed and mobile provider formed via merger with Hutchison and then TPG.

Vodafone Idea (India)

One of India’s largest telecom operators.

Infrastructure

Digital infrastructure is the foundation of modern connectivity – essential for the future of 5G, IoT and digital services.

We have actively carved out our tower infrastructure in Europe and now invest in tower and fibre companies that are critical to Vodafone’s own operations, and to the expansion of reliable, high-speed networks across Europe and beyond.

Our infrastructure assets are built for shared access, improving cost-efficiency, accelerating deployment, and enabling more competition across the sector.

Key assets include:

Vantage Towers (Europe)

A leading towerco supporting Vodafone and other operators across 10 markets.

OXG Glasfaser (Germany)

A fibre joint venture supporting Vodafone’s next-gen broadband strategy targeting 7 million households
in Germany.

SIRO (Ireland)

A fibre-to-the-home joint venture with Electricity Supply Board (ESB) covering over 590,000 homes
in Ireland.

Innovation

We back early-stage, high-potential companies developing new capabilities for the telecoms sector. These investments are designed to unlock long-term value and keep Vodafone at the cutting edge of industry innovation.

Our innovation portfolio spans areas we believe will be critical to the future of connectivity such as non-terrestrial networks, software-defined connectivity, trusted identity and privacy-first services. We partner with a range of telecom and financial partners to drive value.

Our innovation portfolio includes:

AST SpaceMobile

Building a space-based mobile broadband network to bring coverage to remote and underserved regions across Europe and Africa.

Aduna

Creating a unified platform for developers to easily access network features through open, standardised APIs, accelerating innovation by simplifying how apps integrate with telecom capabilities like verification, security, and location services.

PairPoint

A partnership with Sumitomo Corporation focused on facilitating secure, autonomous transactions between connected devices, vehicles, and machines, paving the way for the next generation of autonomous systems and smart infrastructure.

UTIQ

A European AdTech company delivering privacy-first digital advertising solutions based on telco-grade identity frameworks, offering brands more accurate targeting while putting consumer privacy, transparency, and consent at the core.

Partner markets

Partner markets

For over 20 years, Vodafone has partnered with telecom operators around the world. Partner Markets turns our expertise, platforms, brand, and scale – that would otherwise be limited to our own markets – into practical resources to drive mutual growth and extend our reach.

We work with operators in over 40 countries, helping them expand services, improve performance and deliver better experiences to millions of customers. These long-term partnerships are built on mutual trust and tailored to local needs.

While our relationships with our partners are varied, the main ways we work with them include:

Platforms and products

Providing access to our innovative platforms and products e.g. OneApp, network APIs and our IoT platform.

Brand

Licensing our global brand to partners who operate independently.

Managed Services

Providing comprehensive solutions with end-to-end management including cyber security and network operations, roaming and procurement.

Know-how

Leveraging our operational and commercial expertise to advise partners on topics such as customer experience, pricing, and digital marketing.

Alliances

Collaborating on global connectivity solutions e.g. for multinational business customers.
