Patricia Obo-Nai, Vodafone Ghana CEO said: “These awards acknowledge the positive contributions we are making towards the growth of the telecommunications sector and wider economy in Ghana.

“To be recognised as the Telecom Company of the Year is a testament to our loyal customers, stakeholders and also the hard work of our colleagues.

“We will continue providing exceptional services to our customers and making positive differences for society through technology.”

Patricia Obo-Nai was appointed Vodafone Ghana CEO in April 2019. Through her career, Patricia has championed the role of technology in improving lives, particularly in areas such as Sub-Saharan Africa’s fight against maternal mortality.

Vodafone Ghana has introduced new technologies in recent years to enhance its customer service offering, such as artificial intelligence (AI)-powered chatbot, TOBi, which offers 24-hour customer service support, and a self-service app. It accelerated the roll-out of these services during the coronavirus pandemic, and Tobi is now successfully taking on around 30% of customer queries in Ghana.

The tech comms company has expanded its financial services offering during the pandemic, waiving transfer charges on digital transactions of Vodafone Cash to other networks.
