Watch: Vodafone’s Green Gigabit Network powers the Greek Island of Ammouliani

The Greek island of Ammouliani is the only inhabited island in the Halkidi region. Nestled between the Sithonia and the Athos peninsulas, this small island is now running on Vodafone’s Green Gigabit Network. Using solar panels, Vodafone Greece is providing the island’s kindergarten, primary school and health centre with 100% sustainable energy.

Vodafone’s entire European network is now powered by energy from renewable sources. This includes all data centres, retail and office buildings. This is a key step towards our goals of reducing our own carbon emissions to ‘net zero’ by 2030 and across the entire company’s value chain by 2040.
