9 November 2022 - How Vodafone UK is keeping customers connected when it matters most
In today’s world, connectivity is no longer a luxury, it is essential. Giving us access to crucial information and services and helping us stay in touch with loved ones, colleagues, and friends.
However, as inflation rises and energy costs soar, staying connected is becoming financially difficult for both families and businesses.
To support our British customers through this challenging time, Vodafone UK is taking some steps to help keep costs down.
Making money go further
In the UK, we have enhanced our social mobile tariff ‘VOXI For Now’.
This plan gives unlimited 5G mobile data, minutes and texts for just £10 a month, for up to six months, to anyone claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance, Disability Allowance, Personal Independent Payment, Employment and Support Allowance, or employment-based Universal Credit.
These customers will also be able to get broadband through our new Vodafone Essentials Broadband package, which offers average download speeds of 38Mbps at £12 a month.
With no need for a credit check, and no contract to sign, it means that those facing financial difficulties can stay connected.
For those customers who fall out of the above criteria, Vodafone’s Pay As You Go bundles also start from £10 a month and include unlimited calls and texts, as well as 21GB of data.
There is also the option to put a spending cap on mobile plans to help avoid unexpected costs. With our Spend Manager, customers can set a limit on how much they spend on out-of-plan charges each month. Once this limit is reached, customers will not incur extra costs.
In addition, customers who combine their mobile and broadband plans can further save by cutting up to £3 off their monthly bill – with a family of four saving up to £380 a year.
For every new and existing UK Vodafone Together customer, we’ll also be donating up to a year’s worth of connectivity to someone who needs it through our Buy One Give One initiative as part of our everyone.connected campaign.
Supporting small businesses
Looking at helping our business customers too, Vodafone UK is offering small businesses in the UK free broadband for a year (on a two-year plan), as well as a £200 gift card for utility bills.
Partnering with Enterprise Nation, we’re hoping to equip businesses with the digital skills they need to take their operations to the next level. Giving regular free workshops, webinars and e-learning modules that help kickstart digital transformation and ensure safety online.
Across 11 markets now, we’re also providing a wealth of free resources through V-Hub.
Covering topics such as website construction, security, remote working and digital marketing, customers will have access to online guides, videos and webinars, and a chat service puts businesses directly in touch with the experts to discuss specific issues and get more tailored information.
The growing digital divide
Passionate about closing the digital divide, Vodafone UK’s everyone.connected campaign has pledged to provide connectivity to one million people by the end of 2022; already reaching 750,000 people so far.
Working with charity partners in the UK, such as the Trussell Trust, Barnardo’s and Good Things Foundation, as well as customers and employees, Vodafone is giving digital access and skills to the most vulnerable people in our society.
For example, Vodafone UK’s Great British Tech Appeal, run with charity partners Barnardo’s, SafeLives and the British Red Cross, distributes refurbished smartphones and tablets to disadvantaged people who lack connectivity.
As we continue to react to wider, global challenges, we will continue to do what we can to support our customers.
