A case study with a high-end fabric furnishings, wall coverings and interior design business

17 Aug 2022

Challenges

  • Small in-house IT department
  • Perimeter of the corporate network
  • Public IP, CPE administered in-house

Soution

  • In-depth manual testing exercise
  • Covers all devices connected to the network

The customer and the challenge

A high-end fabric furnishings, wall coverings and interior design business with majority of sales in America and presence in Europe. The company has a small in-house IT department. The main security concern is centred around the perimeter of the corporate network and any vulnerabilities. In part, because of the public-facing element, the public IP and the CPE is administered in-house as a department.

How we helped them

  • Vodafone Business Security Penetration Test service. This is part of our wider security portfolio of smart security services, an in-depth manual testing exercise that simulates an actual attack by applying the “path of least resistance” principle. The test exploits any identified flaws to demonstrate their impact. These flaws are then prioritised for remedial actions in the final report.
  • The Penetration Test typically covers all devices connected to the network, such as:

    • Switches, routers, firewalls, proxies, load-balancers, VPN concentrators, hypervisors, virtualised environments, voice gateways, Wi-Fi and wireless infrastructures
    • Operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS, Unix and derivatives)
    • Servers (web, email, VDI, ERP, Active Directory, LDAP, databases, DNS, etc.)
  • Single supplier for all security needs – one bill, all in one place. Simple to implement.

“I would recommend the service for any business that has a concern or question as to the vulnerability of their external network. It was a good, useful service and the report we received was thorough. The subsequent opportunity to discuss any vulnerabilities found is something that needs to be done when significant changes are implemented.”
