Resources for education professionals

Are you a teacher, head teacher or other school employee? Do you want to know how to help young people use the internet safely and responsibly and also understand how to protect yourself and your professional reputation in the digital world?

Back in 2008, there was little information available about these issues so Vodafone teamed up with a number of other leading technology companies and European Schoolnet to create the Teachtoday website (formerly at Time moves on and there are now lots more resources for education professionals, developed by government, industry and NGOs. Elements of the former Teachtoday website are now being used by various industry partners – Vodafone has built this new area within Digital Parenting to direct education professionals to useful resources and is also running the @TeachtodayUK pages on Facebook and Twitter.

Where can I go for more information and support?

As a starting point, we suggest you take a look at the following resources:

UK Safer Internet Centre

The UK Safer Internet Centre website offers help and advice for teachers and other professionals who work with young people.

CEOP's Thinkuknow programme provides a range of free educational resources, including films, lesson plans and presentations.

South West Grid for Learning

The South West Grid for Learning (SWGfL) provides useful information for education professionals, including e-safety policy templates.

Teachtoday ‘Living with technology’

Developed by Teachtoday partners, this presentation and video can be used as part of school e-safety initiatives (please note, the presentation was developed in 2012 so it is recommended that you only use it as a template and that you update the content). Download entire toolkit as a zip file (36Mb)
