Linking Australia and New Zealand to the US

The international bandwidth market in Australia and New Zealand is projected to grow by 11,000% in the next 10 years. Global connectivity and access to faster and more resilient internet connectivity is vital to the region.

The 15,000km fibre optic deep-sea Hawaiki cable across the Pacific Ocean offers a solution to this growing capacity need through high-speed, low-latency connectivity with the latest technology.

Hawaiki is a privately-owned, carrier-neutral cable system that commenced commercial operation on 20 July 2018. Vodafone is an anchor tenant on the system and will be able to deliver tailored capacity solutions.

With potential future connections to New Caledonia, Fiji and Tonga, Hawaiki will significantly enhance the region’s connectivity to the rest of the world.
