Hannover, Germany - March. 16, 2016 - SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced details of a new solution, SAP IoT Foundation which features device connectivity management capability from Vodafone and is designed to help customers gain returns on their IoT investments quicker. The announcement was made at CeBIT 2016 being held March 14–18 in Hannover, Germany.
SAP and Vodafone have signed an agreement to collaborate on customer projects in all the markets that they jointly serve. This collaboration will allow enterprises to connect and manage devices using Vodafone’s IoT connectivity platform and to collect and move data from the devices into the SAP HANA Cloud Platform to support predictive maintenance as well as other use cases. The technical certification of the integration between Vodafone and the SAP HANA Cloud Platform (HCP) is supported by the new SAP IoT Foundation.
The SAP IoT Foundation which integrates device connectivity management from Vodafone helps aggregate data from SIM-based IoT devices’ status, usage, rate plans and billing, and provides an integrated dashboard, powered by SAP HANA, enabling SAP customers to easily manage global IoT deployments. By combining device connectivity management capabilities from Vodafone with IoT applications, the SAP IoT Foundation helps simplify the process of acquiring and managing regional and/or global wireless services which are guaranteed to interoperate with SAP IoT solutions.
