IoT Week will take place from the 16th to the 18th of June 2015 in Lisbon, Portugal and will attract amongst others, M2M and IoT Developers and Telecoms companies.
Portugal is well positioned in respect to the Internet-of-Things. Notably, the global Vodafone M2M middleware platform is being developed in Portugal (Lisbon) and also the Bosch M2M & IoT solutions are developed in Portugal (Aveiro). The major Portuguese telecom companies are now strongly promoting their M2M & IoT business capabilities. Many champion SMEs are developing IoT focused solutions and creating countless business opportunities as a result. And also, key cities like Porto and Lisbon are building their smart-city strategies based on IoT technologies and data.
Tony Guerion, Head of M2M Sales for Southern Europe will participate in a keynote session and panel discussion on the 17th June at 13:00 which will address:
How cable and telcos supports large-scale Internet-of-Things.
This session will cover the ways in which telecommunication providers can support IOT and M2M application, including looks at city infrastructure, home automation, energy grid, industrial, traffic and transportation case studies. Experts from telecommunication, cable, connectivity, and technology companies will give insight into the current state of the art, emerging business models, and what we can expect in the near future. They will discuss connectivity in some detail, including emerging standards, unlicensed spectrum, and the roles that Cellular, cable, wifi, LTE and LTE-U, and other technologies will play.
