Vodafone Positioned as a Leader in the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Managed IoT Connectivity Services Worldwide

31 Mar 2021

Vodafone is recognized as a Leader seven times running

Gartner has just named Vodafone as a Leader in its Magic Quadrant for Managed IoT Connectivity Services again. This is now the seventh time in a row that we have been identified by Gartner as a Leader.

A Leader is defined by Gartner as a company which “executes well against their current vision and is well positioned for tomorrow.”  Our position as a Leader reflects Gartner’s view of our completeness of vision and ability to execute. Of the 18 vendors that were included in the Magic Quadrant, Vodafone was placed highest for "ability to execute" and furthest to the right for “completeness of vision”.

We believe our position in the Leaders’ Quadrant recognises:

  • Our continued growth. With 118 million managed IoT connections around the world, we have the most IoT connections of all the vendors included in the Magic Quadrant.
  • The creative and innovative approach we take to building IoT solutions for customers. This includes our “Together Ready” program and a range of Covid-19 solutions that have allowed companies to continue to trade safely through the pandemic.
  • The positive feedback from customers about our MPN (mobile private network) services and edge computing services for IoT.
  • Our truly global coverage which allows us to provide customers with IoT connectivity, no matter their size, industry, or location.

Erik Brenneis, CEO of Vodafone Business IoT, said: “Over the past 12 months, we have heard from thousands of customers who told us IoT has helped them become more resilient, flexible and maintain business continuity during this time of disruption.

But it goes much further than this. IoT is helping companies innovate and drive profitable growth. We see customers using IoT to access untapped data and drive strategic thinking, adopt new business models, and improve customer experience. Companies are using IoT technology to fundamentally improve their efficiency as well as reducing their environmental impact.

As organizations continue to digitalise their operations, 87% of businesses in our latest IoT Spotlight report said IoT is critical for their future success.”

You can read more about how businesses are adopting and using IoT to succeed and become Future Ready in our latest IoT Spotlight report, which surveyed over 1,600 companies to discover the positive benefits that IoT is having on their businesses. The report reveals how they are building resilient strategies using the technology to survive today and thrive into the future.
