Vodafone seeks to share learnings at Medical Adherence Consortium

News | May 2016

Vodafone is proud to be hosting the second annual Medical Adherence Consortium at its Newbury HQ today. It brings together a wide range of organisations from across Europe with a common interest in sharing experience, aligning thinking, and jointly identifying and addressing common obstacles to the improvement of medical adherence; that is ensuring that medications are taken at the correct time and in the correct dosage.

With its inaugural event being held in February 2015 the consortium is now entering its second year. The consortium is now focused on two areas where it is felt that obstacles are preventing widespread take-up of adherence initiatives: specifically, the economic and regulatory environments of improved medical adherence.

These two themes will be the focus of the day with the group hearing back from the economic position paper and regulatory concerns working groups. We will also hear from Vodafone regarding some real experiences with adherence initiatives, and from two technology companies that have interesting new products in this space. Delegates from a variety of institutions are in attendance:

List of companies sending delegates:

  • AMS
  • Astrazeneca
  • CfBI
  • Folium Optics
  • GSK
  • HealthBeacon
  • MD Healthcare
  • Miotify
  • Nice
  • Philips
  • RCP
  • Smith and Nephew
  • Spoonful of Sugar
  • Teva
  • Tunstall

Vodafone IoT seeks to learn from various speakers in the healthcare field to continue developing healthcare solutions that can help to transform lives. A specific area of interest will be the ways in which IoT technology can help to improve adherence initiatives.
