M2MDataGlobal is a pioneer in the IoT world in Latin America.
Providing high-end infrastructure with services such as IoT, VPN, Private APN, Fixed IP and a management platform, Founder Daniel Spector is passionate about giving everyone access to the best M2M managed connectivity services, equipment and applications.
With a deep understanding of the cultural values and operational norms throughout the region, these local providers have created innovative end-to-end IoT solutions and commercial models delivered with high quality of service. They are also well-versed in the specific industry needs, such as agriculture and oil and gas, which ensure the best possible outcomes for IoT deployments.
Together we’re working to connect more people and things in more countries throughout Latin America. With M2MDataGlobal helping us to navigate this landscape, where each country has different requirements, we’re able to develop compliant solutions that can directly support the needs of our customers.
We spoke with CEO, Elionae Pazetti da Silva, as well as Founder, Daniel Spector, about their love for M2M and their commitment to the region.
Elionae Pazetti da Silva: In 2013, Daniel founded the company as a reseller of connectivity combined with customer service. It came with a platform that provided customers 24/7 technical support as well as a personalised dispatch approach.
Since then, we’ve transformed ourselves to become not only a reseller of connectivity, but we’ve also brought in IoT components to provide an overall IoT solution.
We’ve created a framework that is entirely focused on delivering a better service to our customers in Latin America.
We like to talk about our IoT solution and concepts like DNA. To us, the DNA of a good IoT solution includes the device, network and application. The network - or connectivity - has always been our main product and it is where we shine - but we also know the device, and know the application, which means we can bring all three together as the backbone of our offering and our customers benefit as a result.
There are many players in the market who are entirely focused on connectivity, but our vision is to combine our DNA concept with our unique spirit and expertise which separates us.
Daniel Spector: I would have to say passion. You have got to have passion for the region and for what you are doing. To us, we like to call this passion love. We see this as the key part of our long-term success.
Similar to the DNA concept, we’ve also created another concept that we call M2M Lover. We call M2MDataGlobal an M2M lover company because we are not just using the M2M technology to connect things, but we are also connecting people who love the technology.
Elionae: That’s right. We’ve built a community of M2M lovers. If you are a customer of ours, you’re an M2M lover. But even if you’re not a customer but you love the technology, then you are still an M2M lover and part of our community.
For example, we have more than 1,000 people across Latin America connecting in an M2M lover WhatsApp group that we created. It includes not just people in Chile, but also people in Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, and other countries.
It’s a group of people in the region that are not always our customers but also people who are very deep within the market. They are people with the knowledge of M2M and who understand the importance that M2M can play in their country. It’s enabled us to create a deep relationship with customers as well as help people in the M2M community.
For example, recently someone in the group, who is not an M2MDataGlobal customer, said they needed an IoT component for a solution or else they would be in a crisis with a customer. They needed this component in a few hours, and we were able to help them get what they needed right away through the community that we built.
This is what M2M love is all about. It’s about putting action to this love and passion.
Elionae: The relationship with Vodafone means a lot to us. The very first SIM Daniel put into the market back in 2013 was a Vodafone SIM and now, seven years later, the momentum we have as a company continues with Vodafone.
It’s incredible to now work with a major carrier and world leader with more than 120 million connected devices worldwide. It makes us feel proud and excited for what’s next.
We’re bringing Vodafone products inside our platform which means that M2MDataGlobal is the first company in Latin America to have a connectivity management platform.
By bringing Vodafone into our platform, which we call the M2M Center, we’re able to offer a fully integrated platform that works with many kinds of products and many kinds of protocols in the world which was missing before this partnership.
It means that we can deliver the most powerful platform for connectivity management. It gives our customer a simple view and simple interaction with a fully capable and user-friendly platform to manage connectivity.
Our vision for the future is to keep supporting customers with new technologies that are coming and the new kinds of networks that the world is deploying in terms of low power networks, narrowband IoT, CAT M1, and others.
Vodafone needs to be a pioneer and so do we, so now with this partnership those networks will become a reality for Latin America in the next few years.
We want to be prepared for the future, and to be prepared we need to be associated with the leaders in America, such as Vodafone, and be beside them in their approach in the market, make the market more mature, and implement new technology that is coming.
Daniel: We are convinced that the success of the 21st century is collaboration and that is why we create collaborative groups like M2M Lovers and work with Vodafone. The technology is incredible, and we believe connectivity can make dreams come true.
