WE’VE DONE IT AGAIN – NOW EIGHT TIMES IN A ROW!  VODAFONE NAMED AS A LEADER BY GARTNER IN THE 2022 MAGIC QUADRANT FOR MANAGED IOT CONNECTIVITY SERVICES, WORLDWIDE

We’re sorry to be boring, but yes, we’ve done it again!  For the eighth time in a row, Gartner has recognised Vodafone as a Leader in its Magic Quadrant for Managed IoT Connectivity Services.

And of the 18 vendors included in the Magic Quadrant, we are again placed highest and furthest for both “completeness of vision” and “ability to execute”.

In our view, our Leader position reflects the stellar growth we’re seeing in our IoT business, with connections up over 20% in the past 12 months (112 million in H1 FY21 compared to 136 million in H1 FY22). We don’t think anyone is growing more quickly than us.

We also think it’s due to the innovation we’re driving in IoT, helping our customers succeed and grow in new ways. Customers tell us that no-one is doing more in this area, whether it’s redefining quality of service, pioneering the use of SIM as a Platform, driving the use of video analytics and visual IoT, looking at 5G for IoT, or coming up with fresh commercial models for IoT customers.

We have also been recognised by customers as a Customers’ Choice in the July 2022 Gartner® Peer Insights™ “Voice of the Customer”: Managed IoT Connectivity Services, Worldwide

During the past year, digitalisation has become a necessity, making IoT an operational asset as critical as electricity for organisations all over the world. And as businesses’ reliance on IoT increases, I am proud to be able to keep offering our customers the global reach, quality of service and operational support they need to deliver their products, optimise their operations and minimise their impact on the environment.

We’re continuing to deliver IoT connectivity and solutions to a wide of range of customers - whether it’s helping Controlant reinvent the cold chain for critical pharmaceuticals and food with real-time monitoring; revolutionizing manufacturing with Ford through 5G private networks; or providing farmers with IoT-based agriculture solutions to help sustainable farming.

Plus, in the past year, we have continued to:

  • Grow our customer base – in H1 2022, we reported we now have over 136 million connections worldwide, and believe we are growing faster than any other IoT provider
  • Offer IoT connectivity worldwide – on over 580 networks in 190 countries, including those that are considered challenging environments because of technology or regulatory requirements
  • Invest in LPWA technologies – we are providing IoT services across 55 networks with 24 in Europe
  • Expand into operational IoT with our end-to-end (E2E) solutions – for example, we now have centres of competency in automotive, e-health / remote monitoring, agri-tech, and manufacturing
  • Help our business customers reduce their own carbon emissions, committing to a cumulative target of 350 million tonnes globally over ten years between 2020 and 2030 – equivalent to Italy’s total annual carbon emissions for 2019. Our IoT services will deliver most of this saving for customers
