In 2008, the Vodafone Italy Foundation funded six people some of which being Vodafone Italy employees, to complete three month work placements with the charitable cause of their choice. Italy’s 2009/10 winners will be announced in October 09.

2008/9: Cinzia Grillo working with Spes Association
Vodafone call centre operator Cinzia Grillo, 29, worked with “Spes Association”, an organisation assisting a disadvantaged area in Catania (Sicily). Working from November 2008 to April 2009, Cinzia helped the staff to build a project and fund raiser programme.

2008/9: Donatella Prato working with Centre Binario 95
Vodafone call centre operator Donatella Prato, 34, worked for “Centre Binario 95”. The group works with the homeless in Rome. As a social operator Donatella was busy from September to December 2008 helping with a creative laboratory project to engage homeless.

2008/9: Rosalba Rombola working with Centre Binario 95
Vodafone call centre operator Rosalba Rombola, 36, also worked for “Centre Binario 95”. From January to March 2009, as web designer and social operator, she helped in restyling of the organisation’s web site: www.shaker.roma.it.

2008/9: Mauro Maugeri working with Ente Giuridico Collegio Maria Ausiliatrice Oratorio Giovanni Paolo II
Mauro Maugeri, 27, worked as short film operator for “Ente giuridico Collegio Maria Ausiliatrice Oratorio Giovanni Paolo II”, an organisation in Catania (Sicily). From October 2008 to March 2009 Mauro created a short film about the city, helping young people overcome difficult personal situations.

2008/9: Matteo Monego working with Suonisonori
Matteo Monego, 38, is a psychologist specialising in children. From October 2008 to January 2009 Matteo supported “Suonisonori”, an organisation helping young people in prison in a Milan Detention Centre.

2008/9: Ankur Narang working with La Strada Cooperative
A computer operator, Ankur Narang worked for the Cooperative “La Strada” in Milan: the group needed to build a database to record all the services they offer for young people in prison, including facilities for those with learning difficulties. Working from November 2008 to February 2009, the resulting database has proved a resounding success for the organisation.
