Hamilton increases championship lead
With a third place finish in the French Grand Prix at Magny-Cours, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton increased his lead in the Drivers’ Championship to 14 points. Hamilton also continued his season-long run of podium finishes.
Double world champion Fernando Alonso finished seventh after starting from tenth place on the grid.
Despite a one-two finish by a resurgent Ferrari team, the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team continues to lead the Constructors’ Championship by 25 points.
