Alonso second, Hamilton third
Both Vodafone McLaren Mercedes drivers finished on the podium in the British Grand Prix, cementing the team’s lead in the F1 Constructors’ Championship.
Fernando Alonso finished just 2.4 seconds behind race winner Kimi Raikkonen.
Lewis Hamilton’s third place was his ninth podium finish in as many races. He continues to lead the F1 Drivers’ Championship by 12 points over his team mate Alonso.
Both Vodafone McLaren Mercedes drivers acknowledged they were off Raikkonen’s race-winning pace, but vowed to push hard in the German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring.
