Legal Advice and Reporting Policy

This policy applies to
Vodafone Group Plc and its subsidiaries, and all directors and employees of such companies.

Policy Objectives

  • To protect Vodafone’s legal interests by obtaining appropriate legal advice in a cost efficient manner that helps to protect Vodafone’s financial, strategic and reputational goals.
  • To set out the circumstances in which such advice is to be obtained, and the procedures for doing so.
  • To set out the requirements for Vodafone subsidiaries to report on legal matters to the Vodafone Group, in order to ensure that the Board of Vodafone Group Plc is kept informed of the status of legal activity throughout the Group.

The Policy
It is the policy of the Board of Vodafone Group Plc to ensure that Vodafone Group Plc and its subsidiaries comply with the law, are properly protected from potential legal liabilities and that legal advice is obtained in an efficient and cost-effective fashion. There is clear guidance for areas where the knowledge and experience of the Legal Department must be used as well as for the procedure to be used for this and it is the obligation of each Vodafone employee to familiarise with the circumstances by which this advice is obtained and the appropriate procedures.

This responsibility to set up appropriate procedures and guidance rests with the Group General Counsel & Company Secretary.
