Business Continuity Management Policy
This policy applies to
All Employees in Vodafone subsidiaries and Joint Ventures with an interest of 50% or more.
Policy objectives
- To safeguard the interest of Vodafone including key stakeholders, brand, reputation and value through business continuity management – a process which identifies potential risks, their impacts, builds resilience and ensures capability for an effective response including effective crisis management.
- To ensures that the Directors meet their key responsibilities and helps ensure that any statutory obligations are satisfied.
The policy
It is the policy of the Board of Vodafone Group Plc to ensure that each company has a BCM approach in place which clearly defines the accountability, structure, roles and their responsibilities. It is the responsibility of the company to establish such approach. For critical processes a workplace recovery plans shall be in place as well as detailed guidance on design principles and appropriate levels of resilience and capacity planning shall be given.
All processes must be classified according to their criticality for Vodafone but as a minimum processes which support the following business areas are classified as critical: network service operations, billing (revenue assurance), customer services, distribution and sales, financial reporting, and preservation of vital records. Processes that are classified as critical adhere to the detailed guidance on design principles and appropriate levels of resilience and capacity planning. The classification is reviewed and approved on an annual basis under the local governance framework.
It is the responsibility of each Local Company Chief Executive to have a risk management approach in place which identifies, assesses and mitigates BCM risks as well as a crisis management plan which is subordinate and aligned to the Group crisis management plan. All Local Company Chief Executive Officer and Vodafone Group Directors are responsible for ensuring that this policy is adopted and implemented within their area of responsibility.
