Vodafone UK has today announced a series of initiatives to invest in the data sales and service experience it delivers, in order to stay ahead of its competitors. In addition, it is simplifying its operating model, to improve the speed and agility of its head office functions in supporting its customer facing operations.

The following actions have been announced:

• Vodafone UK will recruit a further 330 retail advisors into its stores to ensure its customers receive the best service experience and to meet data product sales demand across the UK
• Creating up to 130 sales and service roles in Vodafone UK’s enterprise business
• A new, 850 seat purpose built customer services centre will be built in Stoke-on-Trent
• Vodafone UK will significantly develop its on-line sales and customer service activity, including enhanced e-billing capability, adding a further 30 roles
• A total of 450 redundancies in Vodafone UK, mainly at its Newbury headquarters, as it simplifies its operating model. As part of this initiative senior management levels will be reduced by 20%.
