Vodafone UK and RIM announce the New Blackberry Bold Smartphone

Vodafone UK and Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today announced the arrival of the highly anticipated BlackBerry® Bold™ smartphone. On sale today for all new and existing Vodafone UK customers, the BlackBerry Bold is the first BlackBerry® smartphone to run on Vodafone’s fastest and most reliable* high-speed mobile broadband network and provides the perfect foundation for fast and efficient access to the web, email attachments and other business applications.

Crafted from premium materials inside and out, the BlackBerry Bold smartphone delivers advanced communications and multimedia features with outstanding performance and an elegant design. Mobile users will enjoy top quality phone, messaging, organiser, web browser and email applications, including the ability to edit Microsoft® Word, Excel and PowerPoint files on the smartphone using the preinstalled DataViz® Documents to Go® software suite. The BlackBerry Bold smartphone comes with built-in enterprise-grade Wi-Fi® (802.11 a/b/g) and integrated GPS that supports location based applications including Vodafone Sat Nav**. The BlackBerry Bold smartphone is available on special promotion from free on the Anytime 600 data plan for £35*** a month with an 24 month contract. The plan includes 600 minutes talk-time, unlimited texts and data/Internet access with a 500 MBs per month fair usage policy. The BlackBerry Bold is also available on all Vodafone Total Business price plans which provide businesses with the flexibility to produce individually tailored plans incorporating shared minutes, texts and email bundles as needed.
