Warrington VOICE:
VOICE is a two day employability skills programme developed and delivered by Vodafone staff in Warrington.  The aim is to help young adults by preparing them for 'life after school'.

Local GCSE level pupils were invited into Vodafone to work through a programme developing skills including interviews, completing application forms and general team building exercises.

The team of volunteers from Vodafone Warrington has worked with Woolston High School & Penketh High School for three years and to date 140 pupils have been on the Warrington VOICE programme.

This year's VOICE project was completed with 46 students taking part in the two-day employability skills course. A celebration evening has been organized for late January where it is expected that over 150 people will attend.

Products and Services
Lone Worker Programme:
Around 1.3 million workers are attacked each year in the UK, with those who work alone - such as social workers. Midwives and parking attendants - particularly at risk.

Identisafe is an all-in-one support device specifically designed for such workers.  It looks just like a normal ID badge but contains a panic button and uses Vodafone's enhanced Location Based Services.  Once activated, users are located on intelligent mapping, linking them to a 24-hour support and response service.

CR Event
Life Savers:
On 17 November, Vodafone honoured the amazing men and women who were the 2005 Vodafone Life Savers.

Sponsored by Vodafone in recognition of the vital role mobile phones play when minutes matter in an emergency, the awards paid tribute to the emergency services, whilst also recognising the courage of ordinary people who have found themselves unexpectedly saving a life.

The winners attended a special Downing Street reception held by Prime Minister Tony Blair, before going on to a lunch and award ceremony at London's famous Savoy Hotel.  The winners received their awards in front of a 300-strong audience including those whose life they saved and a host of celebrities including Nell McAndrew, Claire Sweeney, Simon Weston, Jane Asher and Phillip Schofield.

Speaking at No.10, Prime Minister Tony Blair said: ''Bravery in the face of adversity requires a huge strength of will and we should all be eternally grateful for those who selflessly put others before themselves.  Their fortitude is something that must never be undervalued and they are a true asset to this proud nation."

The Vodafone UK Foundation
The Vodafone UK Foundation Awards:
The first year of The Vodafone UK Foundation Awards reached a sparkling conclusion in November at a special ceremony at Vodafone HQ in Newbury.

Finalists along with representatives from the key charity partners joined together to celebrate their achievements in volunteering and fundraising for charities and community projects across the UK.    Winners earned prize donations of £500 for their supported causes and Highly Commended finalists winning £250.   The top 'Inspiring Others' Award for exceptional contribution to the community enabled the winners to donate £1000 for the supported cause.

Crash Impact:
A new initiative was launched in West Berkshire in November, aimed at raising awareness and educating young people about dangerous driving as a result of unsafe passenger behaviour.

Crash Impact is a community partnership initiative and addresses the issue of dangerous driving by young people as a result of unsafe passenger behaviour. By developing an A level assignment-linked campaign, young people can communicate the effects and impact of such behaviour on themselves and the emergency services.

To assist with their projects, the students will be experiencing first hand a staged crash at the Repair Research Centre at Thatcham, spending time and seeing first hand the skills needed to cut open a crashed car with Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service and talking to Royal Berkshire Ambulance Service about their experiences when attending such incidents.
