Day For Autism:

With support from Vodafone, a major NAS awareness day will be held on Sunday 25 September 2005 in Leicester Square, London.

Day for Autism is the first of its kind in the UK and has been organised by The National Autistic Society, to raise awareness and understanding of autism (including Asperger syndrome) and to celebrate the many achievements of the estimated 535,000 people with autism in the UK. The event will be attended by families affected by autism as well as the general public.  It is hoped that the fun and inclusive setting will encourage learning, acceptance and understanding.

The day will draw inspiration from the many and varied talents of people with autism featuring art, craft and photography exhibitions, street performers, a live art demonstration and 'soft play' areas for younger children. In addition, a comprehensive programme of stage performers will run throughout the afternoon with acts as diverse as a steel band, an ambient jazz string quartet, and short plays from students of the NAS Sybil Elgar School.

Products and Services

Vodafone Simply:   There's no one 'ideal' mobile phone that suits everyone, because we all have different needs.  However for those whose dexterity is restricted Vodafone Simply may be the answer.  Vodafone Simply is aimed at people who do not want the extra features that many new phones offer and is introduced at a time when a survey for the network found that over 50% of people were put off using an electrical device due to its complicated nature.

The new handset, takes the complication out of communication, offering a mobile phone that’s easy to use and easy to understand:

  • Easy to read screen and large buttons
  • A cradle to ensure your phone is always charged
  • Perfect for voice calls and texting

All the must-have features are easier to use, while the features you don't want have been left out. Instead of complicated instructions and menu options, Simply has straightforward buttons and switches.
