The new service will let customers create their own content in Vodafone live! and share part of the generated income
- You can now upload videos, pictures and audio file archives to Vodafone live! by sending an MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) message. What's more, each time other users download them, you'll get 10% of the download price.
- Vodafone turns your mobile into a shop window where you can display your own content and let others know about it. The company is putting some of the current Internet most widespread uses onto the mobile.
Madrid, 4th March 2008 - Vodafone Spain announces the launch of its new service 'Lookatme', a groundbreaking service that lets users generate part of the Vodafone live! content with the videos, pictures or audio files that they themselves send. The service will be available in April.
The content are to be sent via MMS to 272721 and, provided that they comply with Vodafone content quality standards, will be available for downloading at Vodafone live!->Community->Lookatme2. Any users who have sent content will get 10% of the download price whenever other users download their files. When customers have earned at least 10 euros, they will receive the amount through Paypal, the Internet-based e-payment system. To do so, customers will have to sign up for a Paypal account, which they can then use to send and receive payments on the Internet.
With this launch, Vodafone continues to boost the development of the new era of internet, Web 2.0, which is marking internet user participation, blogs, social networks and online video and music for sharing. Vodafone is spearheading the technological revolution in the telecommunications world with its commitment to Internet-mobile convergence and the launch of innovative services such as 'Lookatme'.
Vodafone live! has the most comprehensive TV offering, with more than 60 channels in two packages, Vodafone live! TV and Mobile DIGITAL+, and exclusive applications such as TV Zapping: the first application on the market for managing television channels on the mobile telephone. This extensive offering is now boosted by the new 'Lookatme' service, through which users can swap their videos, audio and image files, thereby making the mobile a social meeting point.
