• Caixa Girona has chosen Vodafone Spain to revamp and upgrade all its voice and data mobile communications services, as well as provide a range of solutions to streamline its day-to-day management.
• The deal includes voice lines, solutions for mail and internet on the move on BlackBerry and personal data lines, together with optimised management of mobile communications on the Caixa Girona exchange.

Girona, 28th February 2008.- Caixa Girona has chosen Vodafone Spain to revamp and upgrade its mobile communications services, and to provide a range of solutions to streamline its day-to-day management.

Caixa Girona, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, has chosen Vodafone to extend its range of in-house services. This agreement seeks to leverage on Vodafone's leadership in the mobile communications field and design services that lets them be far more competitive and efficient, cutting the cost of investments.

Now that the agreement has been renewed, Vodafone Spain will be managing the exchange's mobile communications, as well as all the voice lines, the BlackBerry-based mail and internet solutions and the personal data lines for logging onto Internet or the corporate Intranet with USB modems and 3G/HSPA cards.

In a move geared to facilitating and boosting mobility within the organization, Caixa Girona has presented a Vodafone Blackberry smartphone to each of its Central Services and branch managers. The project is part of the Organization and Systems Department's Operating Plan, and will allow the smartphone's users to integrate notebook and mail services and corporate contacts in the different environments available.

Caixa Girona is also working on different corporate applications with the goal of adding this new solution to its existing traditional technological resources. The new course now being steered by Caixa Girona's technology managers is geared to the implementation of all the technical advances needed to help achieve the bank's business objectives.
