Vodafone Romania upgrades its 3G access network, in Bucharest

Vodafone Romania announces an upgrade project for some of its 3G access network, in Bucharest, during the week February 26 - March 3, 2008. The upgrade project is an important step in the further development of Vodafone Romania 3G broadband network and in the evolution to an all IP network.

During the upgrade process, a few of the 3G broadband data services customers might experience a reduction of the mobile data transfer speeds, in some areas in Bucharest. The voice traffic will not be affected, however users might experience partial downtime for video telephony services, according to the schedule below. Vodafone Romania appologizes for any inconvenience caused to its customers in using the already mentioned services.

The upgrade process will last approximately 6 hours on February 26, 27, 28, 29 and March 2, 3, starting at 7 a.m., in different areas in Bucharest, as follows:

  • Tuesday, February 26 and Wednesday February 27- Eroilor, Cotroceni;
  • Thursday, February 28- in various districts in West and South-West of Bucharest, such as Crangasi, part of Militari, Margeanului, Salaj, Mall Berceni, Resita;
  • Friday, February 29-Mihai Bravu, Dristor, Popa Nan;
  • Sunday, March 2- in the Center of the city, including Piata Victoriei, Camera de Comert, Maria Rosetti, Hotel Howard Johnson;
  • Monday, March 3-Romexpo and Baneasa Nord areas.
