- Vodafone Passport customers will benefit from the Vodafone Passport tariffs in all the countries included in the program, regardless of the network in which they register
- Lower roaming tariffs for calls in Switzerland for Vodafone World users
Vodafone Romania is pleased to announce more benefits for the users of Vodafone Passport and Vodafone World roaming services.
"With Vodafone Passport and Vodafone World, our customers benefit from a unique roaming offering. This is the result of various initiatives we have introduced during the last years in order to offer better value for money and improved cost control to our customers. We continue to offer Romanians who travel abroad the best roaming services and exclusive benefits", said Liliana Solomon, Chief Executive Officer Vodafone Romania.
Starting today, Vodafone Passport customers who travel abroad will have the Vodafone Passport tariffs, in the countries included in the program, regardless of the network in which they register. Thus, the Vodafone Passport tariffs will be available to the Romanian customers who activated this option, no matter if they use or not the network of a Vodafone preferred operator, when roaming.
Moreover, users of the standard roaming service, Vodafone World, who travel to Switzerland, will benefit from lower roaming tariffs. Starting today, Switzerland has been included in the roaming Zone 1, next to the European Union countries, which will significantly reduce the roaming costs for this destination.
Vodafone Romania offers customers who travel to Switzerland a flat tariff of EUR 0.49 / min for making a call, as compared to the previous tariff of EUR 0.80 / min (in Vodafone partner networks) and EUR 1.05 / min (in other networks) - for post-paid customers - and EUR 0.99 / min (in Vodafone partner networks) and EUR 1.19 / min (in other networks) - for Vodafone pre-paid customers. For receiving a roaming call in Switzerland, Vodafone Romania customers will benefit from a flat tariff of EUR 0.24 / min, reduced from EUR 0.50 / min (for post-paid customers) and from EUR 0.55 / min (for pre-paid customers). The tariffs do not include VAT.
Vodafone Passport is a roaming option which can be activated at no cost by customers who use standard roaming services. Vodafone Passport enables roaming customers to make calls at their national tariffs, to which adds a connecting fee for each call. Vodafone Passport major advantage is that the longer the call, the lower the average tariff per minute, offering Romanians who travel abroad a better value for money and significantly reduced costs.
Vodafone Romania, a subsidiary of Vodafone Group Plc., had 8.579 million customers, as of September 30, 2007. Vodafone is the world's leading international mobile communications group with equity interests in 25 countries across 5 continents and 241 million proportionate customers at the end of September 2007, as well as 39 partner networks.
