Vodafone Romania launches new broadband Internet offers, addressing both consumers and business customers. With the new Vodafone Mobile Connect packages, users benefit from the most advantageous mobile Internet offering on the Romanian market, including unlimited traffic and speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps, at prices starting with EUR 9 / month.
"Following the success of our mobile broadband data services among business customers, we want to make these services more accessible to Romanian consumers as well. Through our new offering, we meet Romanians' increasing need for high speed mobile Internet access, anytime, anywhere, at very competitive prices. With monthly tariffs starting from EUR 9, for 2 year contracts, users benefit from unlimited data traffic, the data card or the USB modem offered for free, with the advantage of mobility. Starting from February 16, 2008, Vodafone Romania mobile data offering includes 6 packages which meet all the communications needs: 2 new Unlimited Mobile Internet packages, with unlimited traffic, and 4 Mobile Internet & Office packages, with traffic included. By April 30, 2008, Vodafone customers benefit from Internet packages, thourgh the Vodafone Mobile Connect service, at special prices, starting from EUR 9 / month:
- Unlimited Mobile Internet at 9 Euro / month provides users speeds of up to 1 Mbps for a 1 GB monthly traffic. The data traffic exceeding 1 GB will not be charged, while the available speed for extra traffic will be of 128 kbps.
- For higher communications needs, customers can choose Unlimited Mobile Internet at 15 EUR / month, that provide speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps, for 2 GB monthly traffic. The traffic exceeding 2 GB will not be charged, while the available speed for extra traffic will be of 128 kbps.
- Mobile Internet & Office 1 GB, Mobile Internet & Office 2 GB, Mobile Internet & Office 4 GB, Mobile Internet & Office 8 GB packages, with 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and respectively 8 GB of traffic included, provide customers Internet access at speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps, at 12 EUR, 15 EUR, 18 EUR and respectively 27 EUR per month. The exceeding traffic will be charged EUR 0.02 / MB, for the first two packages, and EUR 0.01 / MB for 4 GB and 8 GB of traffic included, while the speed remains up to 3.6 Mbps.
Customers benefit from 4 mobile connectivity devices: Vodafone Mobile Connect Card (for laptop users), Express Data Card (for PCI Express slot laptop users), Vodafone Smart Modem and Pebble USB Modem (the last two devices are available for both laptop and PC users), at prices varying according to the package and the contract period*.
For 2 year subscriptions, Vodafone Mobile Connect, Express Data Card and Vodafone Smart Modem are offered for free. Pebble USB Modem, the most recent portable device introduced in Vodafone Romania portfolio, is offered for free with the Mobile Internet & Office 8 GB package, for 2 year contracts.
The Internet access is available in Vodafone Romania network, in all the regions covered by the 3G broadband network (42.3% of Romanian population), as well as nationally, through GPRS. The mobile data services are available when abroad as well: at 3G broadband speeds, in 26 countries/territories, through 33 operators, at 3G speeds, in 32 countries, through 53 operators and at GPRS speeds, in 64 countries/territories, through 125 operators*. Starting June 2008, Vodafone Group Plc. operating countries, including Romania, will reduce data roaming tariffs by up to 45%.
