Vodafone Romania cuts roaming tariffs for mobile Internet by up to 67%

  • Vodafone Romania launches new offers for data roaming services through Vodafone Connect Abroad
  • Vodafone Romania customers can choose from one of the packages with either daily or monthly tariff, starting at EUR 12

Vodafone Romania announces lower tariffs for data roaming services, by up to 67%. Starting today, Vodafone customers benefit from new tariffs for data roaming through the Vodafone Connect Abroad, addressing users of the Vodafone Mobile Connect service. The new service offers customers advantageous tariff, covering the various needs for using mobile Internet when roaming.

"With the new data roaming offering, we wanted to provide our customers the possibility to choose the package that best suits their needs for using mobile data services when roaming. Vodafone Connect Abroad, for users of mobile data services, next to Vodafone Passport, for voice services, completes the unique roaming offering of the Vodafone Group, bringing our customers better value for money and improved cost control when travelling abroad. Moreover, as we have already announced, the new Vodafone Connect Abroad offers bring lower tariffs of down to 67% for mobile Internet services when roaming," said Liliana Solomon, Chief Executive Officer Vodafone Romania.

As of today, Vodafone Romania customers can opt for a package with either daily or monthly tariff, in order to benefit from instant e-mail, Internet or Intranet access abroad.

Vodafone Mobile Connect Roaming 24h is a package that offers users a daily tariff for using mobile Internet services when roaming. Vodafone customers can opt for the EUR 12 package, with 50 MB of included traffic, for 24 hours, available in 20 Vodafone networks.* Vodafone customers wanting to use mobile data services within a larger range of destinations can opt for a daily tariff of EUR 25, with 50 MB included traffic, for 24 hours, valid for 20 Vodafone networks and other 18 partner networks.* Traffic registered in other networks than Vodafone and its partner networks, as well as traffic that exceeds the 50 MB limit are charged additionally.**

For the Vodafone Mobile Connect Roaming 24h option, the 24 hours are calculated starting with the first roaming connection established in a Vodafone or partner network.

Vodafone Romania customers can choose from 2 data roaming packages with monthly tariff. Vodafone Mobile Connect Roaming 200, available for EUR 40/month, offers users an included traffic of 200 MB in 20 Vodafone networks, when roaming.**

Vodafone Mobile Connect Roaming 200 extended, which costs EUR 100/month, offers customers 200 MB of traffic when roaming, in 20 Vodafone networks and 18 partner networks. **

Starting today, Vodafone Romania customers can opt for one of the 4 Vodafone Connect Abroad packages, free of charge. Options will become active beginning with April 16, 2008. For customers of Vodafone Mobile Connect service who do not choose one of the above roaming data services, the standard tariff plan will be applied by default, with pricing per MB, (EUR 6/MB in Vodafone favorite networks and EUR 8/MB in other networks).The complete list of operators is available at http://www.vodafone.ro/business/servicii/roaming/roaming-de-date/.

Vodafone Romania provides the most extended mobile data roaming offer as a distinct benefit from Vodafone global footprint. Mobile data services are available abroad, as follows: at 3G broadband speeds in 27 countries/territories, through 36 operators, at 3G speeds, in 32 countries, through 53 operators and at GPRS speeds, in 64 countries/territories, through 128 operators.
