Vodafone Romania announces strong financial results for the results for the Quarter ended December 31th 2007

Vodafone Romania announces key performance indicators for the third financial quarter*, ended December 31st, 2007, as released today by Vodafone Group Plc.

Vodafone Romania added 228,482 net customers, for a total of 8,807,859 customers by December 31st, 2007.

In the calendar year 2007, Vodafone Romania added a total of 1,091,154 net customers.

Service revenue increased by 18.8% in the quarter ended December 31st, 2007, compared to same period previous year.

"We are very pleased with the strong financial performance achieved in all key indicators for the third quarter of the financial year 2007/2008. Vodafone Romania continues to have a constant customer base growth reaching 8,807 million users at the end of December 2007, while achieving a strong service revenue growth of 18.8%, year on year. We register a sustained growth in our postpaid customer base which has increased by 4.0% over the last 12 months. Romania continues to be the principal driver of organic growth in Eastern Europe and one of the top performing divisions in Vodafone Group despite the increasingly competitive environment", said Liliana Solomon, Chief Executive Officer Vodafone Romania.

Average monthly revenue per user (ARPU) reached Euro 11.1 in the quarter, as compared to Euro 11.0, same period last year.

Postpaid subscribers accounted for 34.8 % and prepaid for 65.2% of Vodafone Romania's total subscriber base, compared to 34.1% versus 65.9 % in the previous quarter, and 33.5% versus 66.5% same period last year. This corresponds to an annual growth in the postpaid subscriber base of 4.0%.

The number of Vodafone Romania 3G devices went up to 603,983 by December 31st, 2007.
