Vodafone Passport customers pay less for roaming calls

Vodafone Romania announces a lower connecting fee for roaming calls for its customers who use the Vodafone Passport option in the European countries.

Starting June 16, 2007, Vodafone Passport customers who travel to European destinations will benefit from a connecting fee for each call of USD 0.99 (VAT not included), reduced from USD 1.20 (VAT not included). The tariff per minute will be charged as before, according to each customer's price plan.

Vodafone Passport provides Romanians who travel abroad a better value and significant lower costs. For instance, a Vodafone Romania subscriber using Vodafone Standard price plan, who travels to Spain and uses Vodafone Spain network, will pay USD 1.55 for a 4 minute call to Vodafone Romania or Romanian fixed line networks.

Vodafone Passport is a roaming option which can be activated at no cost by customers who use standard roaming services. Vodafone Passport enables roaming customers to make calls at their national tariffs, to which adds a connecting fee for each call. Vodafone Passport major advantage is that the longer the call, the lower the average tariff per minute.

This year, Vodafone Romania extended to 29 the number of Vodafone networks and partner networks on which Vodafone Passport is available to Romanian customers, by adding Bulgaria and Turkey.

Vodafone Passport is currently available in the following countries / networks: Vodafone Albania, Mobilkom Austria, Proximus Belgium, Mobiltel Bulgaria, Cytamobile-Vodafone Cyprus, Vodafone Czech Republic, TDC Mobile Denmark, Swisscom Switzerland, Elisa Estonia, Elisa Finland, SFR France, Vodafone Germany, Vodafone Greece, Vodafone Ireland, Vodafone Italy, Bite Latvia, Bite Lithuania, Lux GSM Luxembourg, Vodafone Malta, Vodafone UK, Vodafone Netherlands, PLUS GSM Poland, Vodafone Portugal, T-Mobile Slovakia, Simobil Slovenia, Vodafone Spain, Telenor Sweden, Vodafone Turkey, Vodafone Hungary - in Europe and Vodafone Australia, Vodafone New Zeeland and Softbak Mobile Corporation Japan in the rest of the world.

For roaming calls from Vodafone Australia, Vodafone Japan and Vodafone New Zeeland networks, the connecting fee per call will remain the same, USD 2.40 USD (VAT not included).
