Romania is the first Vodafone operating company to launch the new Vodafone 227 and Vodafone 228 handsets

Vodafone Romania announces the launch of two new own-branded handsets, Vodafone 227 and Vodafone 228. These models extend the range of Vodafone-only branded mobile phones, which offer customers low cost, simple to use yet stylish handsets. Unveiled by Vodafone Group at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the new Vodafone models are launched, as a first, on the Romanian market.

Vodafone 227, an ultra-slim, clamshell phone, and Vodafone 228, a slider mobile, have an attractive and modern design. Both mobile devices are equipped with a large color display and a range of features, which includes polyphonic ring tones, a vibrating alert, games, a calculator and 300 agenda entries.

There is a high demand, among Romanian customers, for affordable yet high quality and stylish handsets, with basic features like color display, polyphonic ring tones, calculator or an extensive agenda. The new Vodafone 227 and Vodafone 228 mobile phones are now available in all Vodafone Romania and partner stores, at special prices.

The Vodafone 227 is available to Romanian customers for free, for all 2 year contracts, except forVodafone Simplu and Vodafone 2in1 price plans, for which the cost of the mobile phone is EUR 4.

The Vodafone 228 is also offered for free with all Vodafone price plans, for 2 year contracts, though for Vodafone Simplu and Vodafone 2in1 price plans, the price of the mobile phone is EUR 9. For Vodafone Ore Favorite, Vodafone 50 and Vodafone Family 250 price plans, the handset will be EUR 4.

Vodafone 227 and Vodafone 228 are on sale for prepaid customers, too. The price of the Vodafone 227, including the Vodafone pre-pay card, is RON 149 (EUR 41), while the price of the Vodafone 228 including the pre-pay card is RON 169 (EUR 46.5).

In addition, the Vodafone 225, launched in June 2007 to the Romanian market, is currently available in a new color. The Vodafone 225 Red is available for free, with any Vodafone price plan, for 2 year contracts, and at RON 119 (EUR 32.7) for prepaid services including the Vodafone SIM card.
