Vodafone Romania and Humanitas Publishing House are pleased to announce the launch of "The Book Supplement" program. Between June 15 and August 31, 2007, all Vodafone customers who buy at least one book in the Humanitas bookstores will receive one extra book, free of charge.
"We are pleased to launch today "The Book Supplement" program and, at the same time, the partnership between Vodafone Romania and Humanitas - one of the most prestigious Romanian publishing houses and a true cultural brand. Vodafone and Humanitas wish to reward their shared customers with a non-commercial program that emerged from our desire to encourage reading. Ten of Humanitas best titles will be offered to Vodafone customers free of charge in the Humanitas bookstores countrywide, through this program", said Liliana Solomon, President & CEO Vodafone Romania.
"Books are discreet, shy objects. Their voice is the silent voice of a writer's thoughts. We asked ourselves how we could make it better heard, but also how we could reward those who know to listen to it. Together with Vodafone, the world's biggest mobile telecommunications group, we found an answer in the shape of this campaign, that we are now launching", said Gabriel Liiceanu, Humanitas Chairman and General Manager.
The program will include the 15 Humanitas bookstores countrywide* and targets all Vodafone customers, both subscribers and Vodafone Card users. Vodafone Romania customers who purchase books published by Humanitas will receive one complementary book out of the ten titles offered by Humanitas in this program.
The ten titles are: Shakespeare's Last Pretended Sonnets in an Imaginary Translation - V. Voiculescu; The Hedonism Handbook - Michael Flocker; About Securitate - Traian Ungureanu; Lady into Fox - David Garnett; Rumors - Jean-Noel Kapferer; Barabbas - Par Lagervist; Fire of Love - Constanta Vintila Ghitulescu; Claire, at Night - Catherine Locandro; Novecento - Alessandro Baricco; Ask the Dust - John Fante
In order to enter this campaign, Vodafone customers must buy one or more books in the Humanitas bookstores and send a free SMS at the number 2665 (BOOK). Users will receive back an SMS containing a code to be communicated to the bookseller, and then will be able to choose the desired book out of the 10 mentioned titles.
Vodafone is also launching an interactive contest on the mobile portal Vodafone live!. Vodafone customers are invited to attend weekly literary contests. The winners will be drawn and will each receive one book out of the 10 titles available through this program.
