3G broadband services are available in over 230 localities, including all the county capitals

  • Vodafone Romania extended the 3G broadband - HSDPA services with network speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps in all the county capitals and most of the tourist destinations
  • The modem or the data card offered for free, 50% subscription discount for the first 3 months of contract and supplementary data traffic for life, all promotional offers from Vodafone

Vodafone Romania is pleased to announce the expansion of its 3G broadband services with speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps, to a total of 232 localities.

"As the mobile communications market in Romania continues to grow, we are witnessing a significant increase in the demand for broadband services. Vodafone registered a constant growth of the customer pool for broadband data services since their launch on the Romanian market and we expect this trend to continue through the next year. Therefore, we will continue to focus on the expansion of the 3G broadband network, in order to enable a growing number of our customers to use our services. Vodafone 3G broadband services are currently covering approximately 40% of the population," said Liliana Solomon, Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone Romania.

Starting today, Vodafone 3G broadband services are available in 10 more Romanian cities: Suceava, Botosani, Ramnicu-Valcea, Calarasi, Slobozia, Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Targu-Jiu, Focsani, Miercurea Ciuc and Piatra Neamt. At present, Vodafone customers benefit from our 3G services in 58 cities, including all the county capitals. Furthermore, the coverage of 3G broadband services includes tourist destinations in Valea Prahovei, Brasov and Bran-Moeciu - Predeal, Busteni, Sinaia, Azuga, Poiana Tapului, Rasnov, Poiana Brasov, Comarnic, Breaza, Bran, etc, seaside resorts - Mamaia, Eforie, Costinesti, Mangalia, Neptun, Olimp, Vama Veche, 2 Mai, Cap Aurora, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, as well as numerous localities around Bucharest, such as Otopeni, Voluntari, Balotesti, Mogosoaia, Snagov, Tancabesti, Corbeanca, Ciolpani and Bragadiru.

Until January 31st 2008, Vodafone Romania customers benfit from a promotional offer for 3G broadband services which includes a 50% discount for the 3G broadband subscription in the first 3 months of contract, for two-year contracts. Furthermore, the Vodafone Mobile Connect card or the USB Vodafone SmartModem are offered for free to customers who opt for subscriptions with 1 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB of traffic included, for two - year contracts.

In addition, between December 7th 2007 and January 31st 2008, Vodafone Romania customers benefit from supplementary traffic for life for all 3G broadband subscriptions: 200 MB plus for the Mobile Internet 200 MB subscription, 1 GB for the Mobile Internet 1 GB and Mobile Internet 4 GB subscriptions and 2 GB plus for the Mobile Internet 8 GB subscription.

3G broadband - HSDPA services are also available when roaming in 26 countries/regions, through 33 operators: Germany, Portugal, Spain, UK, France, Belgium, Austria, Bulgaria, Finland, Hungary, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Holland, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Denmark, Croatia, Israel, New Zeeland, Japan, Luxemburg, Sweden, USA and Malta.
