The successful Vodafone Passport formula, offering huge roaming benefits for Vodafone customers, will be expanded with a standard SMS roaming tariff. As of 1 July 2008, consumers will pay only 29 eurocents for sending an SMS in 42 countries, no matter how many text messages are sent. Vodafone Passport was first introduced in the Netherlands in the summer of 2005 and has been the leading roaming offer in the Netherlands ever since.
Guy Laurence, CEO of Vodafone Netherlands: “As the world’s leading mobile company, we have been setting the pace in roaming tariffs since 2005 when we first introduced Vodafone Passport. More than 1.5 million of our Dutch customers have registered for free and enjoy huge benefits in 42 countries, not just during their summer holidays but during every holiday in the year and every daytrip across the border. With Vodafone Passport our customers benefit from our global footprint with structural and transparent tariffs, any time they go abroad and need to call, text or use the internet, 365 days a year. With the new standard SMS roaming price we are again leading the way.“
The new SMS tariff will automatically apply to all Vodafone consumer customers, prepaid and postpaid once they have activated Vodafone Passport. There is no charge for activating Vodafone Passport, customers only need to do this once. For more information please visit Vodafone.nl/passport.
