Personal voice tariff info for 347 mobile networks worldwide
Maastricht, 3 April 2007 - As of this week Vodafone customers can get their free personal voice roaming tariff info for the mobile network they are using at that moment. By sending an SMS message to 4433, texting the word ‘tariff’ followed by the country name, the customer receives an SMS message from Vodafone with his personal voice tariff info of his current network. This free service, called "Tarief op Reis?" is available for all Vodafone customers.
In the personal voice tariff information, any additional options the customer has, such as Vodafone Passport or Vodafone BloX Voordeel op Reis, are taken into account. "Tarief op Reis?" is also available if the customer is still in the Netherlands. In that case, the customer receives an SMS with voice tariff info and the operator name of the Vodafone or partner network in the country requested.
Vodafone Netherlands offers this SMS service to create more price transparency in mobile voice roaming tariffs, in line with the European Union's request. The free SMS service "Tarief op Reis?" is one in many Vodafone initiatives to reduce mobile roaming costs and enhance price transparency. Already more than 1.2 million Vodafone customers in the Netherlands have activated the free Vodafone Passport service.
