No out-of-bundle tariff, no fair usage policy
Vodafone Netherlands extends its offer for mobile internet on the laptop with a number of flatfee subscriptions. Prices vary between EUR 19.95 and 49.95 depending on bundle size and download speed. When the customer has used all of his bundle, there are no out-of-bundle charges but the download speed will decrease.
Vodafone Netherlands introduces this new tariff plan because mobile working and using internet on your laptop is quickly gaining popularity. The new tariffs cater for a new and fast growing customer segment where cost control is key.
At the same time, the current tariff plans that always offer the maximum available download speed, have undergone improvements such as increasing the bundle size and decreasing the out-of-bundle price. In January 2008 Vodafone Netherlands was the first operator to lower the tariffs for mobile internet on the laptop very substantially, thus creating a new price standard in the Dutch market.
Guy Laurence, CEO at Vodafone Netherlands: “Our new price plans make mobile internet on your laptop available for every type of consumer or company, whatever their budget or specific demand for speed. We notice that customers want to be online with their laptop wherever they are and that the classic nine-to-five rhythm no longer exists for many people. Work and private time overlap more and more. People like taking the children to school, having an extended lunch with a friend, need to visit the dentist and they finish a job related task at home in the evening. Being online mobile and working flexible anytime, anywhere for a fixed price per month is now really possible.
