'Hallo Amsterdam' campaign turns city red
Today, Vodafone opens the doors of its second head office in Amsterdam for the first employees of what will become a total of 350 people including eight directors. The head office is situated in Q-Port, close to Amsterdam Sloterdijk where it will remain until 2010. At that time Vodafone will move to Oosterdokseiland (ODE), right next to the Central Station. To mark Vodafone’s presence in Amsterdam a unique outdoor campaign has started in which Vodafone introduces itself to the city and to potential new employees.
Since 12 May large parts of Amsterdam have turned red by a striking outdoor campaign of Vodafone. On typical Amsterdam landmarks like for example the Vondelpark local billboards show texts like “Hello Vondelpark”. An original way for Vodafone to introduce itself to the city. Part of the outdoor campaign, not only via (mobile) billboards but also using Boomerang cards, poster screens, coasters etc. is aimed at potential employees, directing them to Vodafone’s vacancy website.
On another level Vodafone has been strengthening its ties to the city for some months. Recently Vodafone became a member of Amsterdam Partners, announced its ‘founding partnership’ of Mobile Monday Amsterdam, has become a member of ECP.nl and the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and sponsor of the Poetry in the Park festival. More announcements will follow shortly.
In October last year Vodafone Netherlands announced to move the commercial parts of the company to Amsterdam. To strengthen its growth strategy Vodafone wants to be closer to its main customers, business partners, stakeholders and market trends.
