The Commission on Domestic Violence in collaboration with the Vodafone Malta Foundation held a drawing competition for students entitled 'A Home without Violence'. The aim of this competition was to raise awareness on domestic violence.
The competition was open to students between eight and 16 years of age. 274 Students from 21 schools all over Malta and Gozo participated in this competition.
Raising awareness such as through this competition helps to reduce incidence of domestic violence, contributes towards education of the public, and exposing domestic violence for what it is. The overall aim must always be zero tolerance towards domestic violence. It is never acceptable. "The Commission strives to educate youngsters on the issue of domestic violence. Most of the times, the children are the ones to suffer the most during domestic violence through the experiences in their homes. This competition was beneficial for both the children and their families and the Foundation was more than happy to lend a hand," said Mrs Gemma Mifsud Bonnici, Chairperson of the Vodafone Malta Foundation.
