Over 1 million prepay customers expected to make 2 million calls today as news of offer breaks

Today (Thursday 7th February 2008) Vodafone Ireland announces the biggest prepay promotion ever, offering the best value in the Irish prepay market - Free Calls and Texts, all day every day, right throughout Spring. This offer introduces free prepay calls for the first time to the Irish market. From Monday 11th February through until the end of April, over 1.6 million Vodafone prepay customers can catch up with their family and friends on the Vodafone network without worrying about the time they spend on a call or their credit running out.

From Monday, customers who top up by €20 or more in one go can get Free Calls and Texts for the next 30 days. There's no contract to sign, they simply text "Free" to 50222 to register to start saving, talking and texting.

Prepay customers who are already on the Vodafone Free Texts or Free Weekends for Life plan need not worry about missing out on the great value they are already getting. Free Text remains a free-for-life offer and they will return to their standard package once the promotional period ends.

Vodafone's Consumer Marketing Director, Carolan Lennon said, "With Free Calls and Texts, all day, every day, Vodafone is offering customers really big savings this Spring. There are no hidden terms and conditions, opting in and topping up is all that's required."
