Champion Olympiakos coach Takis Lemonis spoke in 'Interview of the month' on Vodafone Live! Sports about the transfers in Olympiakos, the Rivaldo issue and his club's aims.

Speaking of whether Olympiakos is to proceed to transfers combining big names with substance, Takis Lemonis said: "We are definitely set in this direction, but it should be underlined that age is not as important as the particular characteristics of a player...", adding that "The stage we are currently going through is crucial in designing well a team which can be better than what it used to be like."

On the divorce of the club with Rivaldo, he said: "...This issue is exhausted for us and we have to look ahead. The way things unfolded with Rivaldo certainly left a bitter aftertaste at the finale of the League. However, we have to move on and set up a very good team. What we have all said in Olympiakos is that we wish 'Ribo' well in his pursuits in both life and career."

Speaking of the aims set by Olympiakos, Takis Lemonis said:

"Our primary aim is to become a good team. Beyond that, and coming to Europe, I think that we need to change the way we handle things and we should not press players too much." The coach went on to comment on the importance of the help provided by sponsors, and in particular Vodafone, to the team in accomplishing certain aims: "...We are getting great help from our sponsors... and we must offer success in return for their help."
