Sakis Rouvas "returned" to his homeland, Corfu, three years after his last appearance, and fascinated thousands of people that swarmed the Old Fortress Theatre, in a smashing Vodafone-sponsored concert on Sunday 5 August.

Corfiots prepared a very warm welcome for Sakis Rouvas and cheered the pop singer, who in turn, with his unique stage performance, raised the roof singing favourite hits that fans danced to endlessly.

The opening was very impressive, with Sakis Rouvas singing "Ola gyro sou gyrizoun" from his platinum CD "Iparhi Agapi Edo", followed by songs from his movie "Alter Ego", his great hit "Zise ti Zoi" and an adaptation of Elvis Presley’s "Suspicious Minds". Full of energy and never breaking contact with his fans, he continued with other favourite hits.

Passion, rhythm and dancing starred in this big event, as a 15-member group of musicians, dancers and singers accompanied Sakis Rouvas on stage. Fokas Evangelinos was the artistic director and Tony Kontaxakis the music manager.

The concert was organised under the auspices of the City of Corfu.
