Düsseldorf, 2 April 2008. Vodafone is launching a new prepaid product for frequent callers and text message fans. On 3 April 2008, the price of the popular OpenEnd tariff will be reduced even further and it will be extended to include text messaging. Vodafone prepaid customers get free calls after the second minute and text messages don't cost them anything from the second message onwards either.
CallYa OpenEnd Talk&SMS gives customers free calls after the second minute, and the first minute now costs only 29 cents instead of 39 cents. In other words, it makes no difference how long the call is, it only costs 29 cents to numbers in the German Vodafone and fixed networks with the CallYa OpenEnd Talk&SMS tariff. The rate for calls to other mobile networks has also been reduced from 39 cents to 29 cents a minute.
The popular OpenEnd principle has now been extended to include text messaging. The second and all further text messages made on any one day are free. The first text message of the day costs 29 cents. In other words, CallYa OpenEnd Talk&SMS customers can send as many text messages as they like in the Vodafone network on one day for only 29 cents in total. Text messages sent to other networks still cost 19 cents each.
The basic monthly rate for the new CallYa tariff is EUR 1.50. CallYa OpenEnd will be phased out when OpenEnd Talk&SMS is introduced. New and existing CallYa customers can book the new tariff free of charge from 3 April 2008 onwards.
Vodafone's CallYa OpenEnd Talk&SMS tariff makes it the first German mobile network operator to offer prepaid customers a day flatrate for text messages to recipients in its network.
