Hanover, 3 March 2008. The Vodafone Test & Innovation Centre will be exhibiting on its own stand at CeBIT 2008. The Test & Innovation Centre was founded over 10 years ago and it is located in Düsseldorf. There are two more Test & Innovation Centres, in addition to the one in Düsseldorf, in Milan and Newbury. One year ago, Vodafone opened the doors of the Test & Innovation Centre to other enterprises in the telecommunications sector – one of the reasons why it was selected as one of the organisations recently honoured by Federal President Horst Köhler.
At the beginning of the year, Köhler paid tribute to the high-tech Vodafone Test & Inno-vation Centre as one of 365 places around Germany in the Land of Ideas. The "Germany - Land of Ideas" initiative was launched by the German government and German industry to present Germany as an innovative and cosmopolitan place both within the Germany and abroad. 365 outstanding and innovative projects in the fields of education, culture, sport, science, politics, environment and business were chosen. One of the reasons why the Vodafone Test & Innovation Centre was selected from a total of 1,500 candidates is that it makes its services available to other enterprises for test purposes. Experts from manu-facturers such as Huawei, Nokia Siemens, Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and SonyEricsson use the Vodafone Test & Innovation Centre regularly, and they benefit from the employees' many years of experience and the excellent testing environment. The high-tech centre’s test environment capacity and equipment level is equivalent to being able to run the entire mobile network of a small country such as Switzerland.
