12 June 2008

Frank Rosenberger is taking over the new Consumer Business Unit – Jan Geldmacher will be heading the new Enterprise Business Unit

Düsseldorf, 12 June 2008. Friedrich Joussen, CEO of Vodafone Germany, is giving the company a stronger orientation on key customer segments. Up to now, it only operated Marketing and Sales Business Units. These are now being combined and restructured in terms of customer groups. Jan Geldmacher (46), currently CEO of BT Germany, will be taking over the Enterprise Business Unit on 1 September 2008 as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Frank Rosenberger (40), previously CMO of Vodafone Germany, will be heading the Consumer Business Unit as CCO.

"Scale and speed will be the main factors of success in the communications market of the future. We're gearing our operations more specifically to individual target groups as part of our business strategy of turning customers into fans," explained Friedrich Joussen, CEO of Vodafone Germany. "We've now teamed up with Arcor to create an integrated communications group with a portfolio that includes mobile, fixed network, internet and broadband services and products. We're aiming to be the best telecommunications provider in Germany and our new customer-oriented structure will go a long way toward helping us achieve this aim.

Subject to supervisory board approval, Jan Geldmacher will assume his new function and take up his seat on the Vodafone Germany Executive Committee on 1 September of this year.

Jan Geldmacher has been Chief Executive Officer of BT Germany in Munich since 2005. In this function, he transformed the company from infrastructure operator to provider of sophisticated all-inclusive solutions for business customers. He also successfully managed the integration of Infonet Network Services Deutschland and Syntegra. Prior to this, the 46-year old management expert did a five year stint with Deutsche Telekom. Between 2001 and 2004 he was on the T-Systems International Executive Board, where he was responsible for the development of global telecommunications solutions.

Industrial engineer Frank Rosenberger has held various management functions in marketing at Mannesmann Mobilfunk, Vodafone Group and Vodafone Germany since 1994. He has been Vodafone Germany's CMO since February 2006.
