Two new DVB-T models from Vodafone just in time for EURO 2008
Düsseldorf, 29 April 2008. Vodafone will be adding two new DVB-T mobile phone models to its range at the beginning of May 2008. The LG HB620T and the GIGA-BYTE GSmart t600 both have an integrated DVB-T receiver for viewing all free TV channels in excellent quality and in most areas of Germany. Football fans will be able to watch EURO 2008 on their mobile phones at no extra cost.
Vodafone is planning to put the LG HB620T DVB-T mobile phone on sale at the beginning of May. It will be available in conjunction with the Vodafone SuperFlat tariff and a 24-month contract (monthly rate of EUR 29.95 in the first three months, then EUR 39.95) from 15 May to 30 June 2008 for EUR 99.90. The new LG model has an integrated DVB-T receiver for free reception of the digital TV stations that are broadcast in many regions of Germany. These free TV stations optimally supplement Vodafone's own mobile TV service. The TV broadcasts are shown in excellent quality on the 2.0 inch TFT display, which has up to 262,000 colours. The multimedia phone supports EDGE and UMTS broadband, which are already available in many cities, achieving transmission rates of up to 3.6 mbit/s.
Vodafone will also be including a DVB-T mobile from GIGA-BYTE in its range at the beginning of May. The GSmart t600 DVB-T will be available in conjunction with the Vodafone SuperFlat tariff and a minimum 24-month contract at a basic rate of EUR 29.95 in the first three months (then EUR 39.95 per month) for EUR 289.90. This model also has an integrated DVB-T module and a 2.6 inch touch screen display which renders terrestrial digital free TV stations in excellent quality. The GSmart t600 also has the Windows Mobile 6 Professional installed.
