Düsseldorf, 25 May 2007. The "Vodafone Push Mailbox" yesterday evening received Plus X Awards in the categories of 'Innovation' and 'Ease of use'. This is the third time that an innovative Vodafone product has won the award and, this time, the award for the new "Vodafone Push Mailbox" has preceded the product's actual market launch. Vodafone's new mailbox attracted a great deal of interest at the CeBIT fair in March, where it was showcased. When it is launched this summer, Vodafone will be the first network operator to provide an innovative mailbox service that redirects messages to the recipient's handset as voice MMS messages. Customers benefit because all voice messages can be checked on the phone without the need to call up the mailbox. The Plus X Award is a cross-sector technology contest that is organised by the media society networks agency and the plugged Media publishers, which is responsible for the 'plugged', 'smart home' and 'mobile zeit' magazines.
The jury unanimously agreed that, "The new Vodafone Push Mailbox has innovative features and novel functions that make life easier. Another bonus is that this latest generation of mailbox is available to Vodafone customers free of charge. This once again demonstrates Vodafone's innovative service philosophy; the reason why it is a first-mover when it comes to launching new technologies."
"The innovative Vodafone Push Mailbox satisfies Vodafone customers' demand for simple and low-cost communication. No other network operator offers a novel and user-friendly mailbox like this. The Plus X Award confirms our leadership when it comes to putting customer-relevant and innovative concepts into practice," said a delighted Frank Rosenberger, Marketing Director at Voda¬fone Germany.
The Plus X Award pays tribute to products that deliver technological excellence. A renowned jury of specialist journalists selects the products to receive the awards on the basis of their contribution to innovation, design, ease of use and ecology. Products for home entertainment and telecommunication, IT and household appliances, home technology, photo and car entertainment products, electrical tools and horticultural technology products have all received the Plus X Award quality seal as a visible sign of their technological excellence.
