Hanover, 3 March 2008. Starting on 1 May 2008, Microsoft and Vodafone will be offering attractive Vodafone E-MailConnect tariffs for business customers. For EUR 41.65 (EUR 35.00 net) per month, this tariff provides business travellers with 20 MB of data volume credit for use in all networks around the world so that they can re-ceive, read, respond to and send e-mails. Tariffs for German-wide usage which are optimally tailored to different customer requirements round off the tariff portfolio. The low budget tariff only costs EUR 10.21 (EUR 8.50 net) a month.
Last May, Vodafone presented the VDA V, the first smartphone with a Windows Mobile 6 operating system. As a result of high demand, the range of smartphones has been supplemented with new models, and there are now a total of nine. Micro-soft and Vodafone intend to build on this success and have developed a new range of tariffs which are specifically geared to Windows Mobile users.
"Vodafone is the only operator in Germany to provide Windows Mobile-oriented tariffs and technologies on the basis of a dedicated APN. Mobile Connectivity is an integral aspect of the Microsoft proposition. These Microsoft-authorised tariffs en-able us to guarantee that Exchange 03 and other future Microsoft products will be available to our customers, linked in a unique way to the Vodafone network," said Andreas Krieg, Director Mobility at Microsoft Germany.
"This tariff is the start of a close strategic partnership between Microsoft and Voda-fone. Some of our customers' IT infrastructures consist entirely of Microsoft soft-ware. We will be working together to deliver convincing mobile added value to a di-verse range of business customers by providing packages that combine the best of both worlds," added Frank Rosenberger, Marketing Director at Vodafone Germany.
Windows Mobile Email from Vodafone enables customers to enjoy a direct push e-mail service on the move. E-mails, contacts, calendar entries and tasks are syn-chronised directly with the Microsoft Exchange Server. PowerPoint Mobile pre-sentations can be viewed, and Excel Mobile and Word Mobile attachments can be opened, edited and forwarded. The mobile terminal has a user interface that any-one familiar with Microsoft Office will recognise. People who use PC e-mail pro-grams and have experience with Microsoft Windows will have no problem using the terminals, which means faster benefits for the company and higher employee productivity.
Windows Mobile E-Mail by Vodafone is easy to integrate in existing Microsoft Ex-change Server solutions (version 2003 and higher). No further investments are necessary in additional servers or hardware, so Windows Mobile E-Mail is a reli-able, cost-efficient and scalable mobile e-mail solution.
