In the brand value ranking, Vodafone is 11th in the world and 2nd in Europe

Düsseldorf, 24 April 2008. Which are the most valuable brands in the world? Famous market research and consulting firm, Millward Brown (New York), has now answered this question for the third year in succession in its annual survey. Vodafone achieved an excellent result in the survey with eleventh place worldwide and second place in Europe. This puts it very high up the ranking list above other strong brands such as SAP, Mercedes, Siemens or IKEA. In its own sector, Vodafone actually leads the ranking table. The survey was made on over a million consumers in 31 countries and involved over 50,000 brands.

Millward Brown's survey investigates the brand value of large corporations. It is calculated using a complex formula that takes contribution to revenue and the company's future outlook into account. Vodafone's brand value has increased by 75 percent since last year to EUR 23.1 billion (USD 36.9 billion). That puts the company in eleventh place worldwide and second place in Europe. The study ascertained a disproportionately high increase in the brand value of technology enterprises which are also telecommunications enterprises.
