Düsseldorf, 10 June 2008. Vodafone is presenting one of Germany's currently most successful bands live – and free of charge – in Leipzig: Ich + Ich will be giving a free concert in the city's famous Kohlrabizirkus on July 13, 2008. The telecommunications company, which operates the most successful music download portal, is thus underscoring its commitment to its music products.
The band's present album "Vom Selben Stern" ("From the Same Star") has been in Germany's Top 10 continuously for more than 40 weeks. Its first tour this spring was a complete sell-out and tickets for the second tour beginning in June are already in short supply. Ich + Ich has been an incredible success story. The band, which stars Annette Humpe and Adel Tawil, has touched a nerve with this second album. Adel Tawil has impressed music fans with the remarkable range and variety of his singing voice and with the ongoing development of his vocal style. Nor is he afraid to tackle social and political subjects either. This musical blend has brought the band not only "double platinum" but also a total of five Echo nominations. Their live stage performances feature such moving numbers as "Du erinnerst mich an Liebe" ("You remind me of love") and "Dienen" ("Serving").
