"Vodafone Visual Mailbox" lets you listen to voice messages at the click of a button

Düsseldorf, 06. August 2007. Innovations make life easier, and one such innovation has now been launched by Vodafone. It is the first network operator to introduce a "Vodafone Visual Mailbox"; a new kind of mailbox that redirects messages straight to the handset as voice a MMS. The advantage for users of getting their voice messages sent to the mobile phone is that they can hear their messages at the click of a button and don't have to call the mailbox to play them back. Vodafone customers can use this new generation mailbox service free of charge. The new Visual Mailbox received an accolade for its innovativeness and excellent user convenience even before it was launched when it received the "Plus X Award" technology prize from media society networks and the plugged Media-Verlag publishers.

How does Vodafone Visual Mailbox work? If a caller leaves a message in the mailbox, it is redirected to the MMS phone as a voice MMS. When the MMS is opened, the message is automatically played back. This means you only need to click on any message in the mailbox to listen to it right away, and you can choose which ones to listen to first, whichever order they were made in. There's also no need to read the text messages and then call the mailbox. The customer decides when to listen to the messages. They can be played back any number of times as text or voice message, answered or forwarded.  As a result, mailbox messages can be managed just as conveniently as text messages and e-mails, which considerably shortens response times. Callers can be sure that their messages are delivered straight away and will be immediately available to the intended recipient for playback. All the messages are stored additionally in the mailbox and can be listened to in the conventional way. The service is available with all call forwarding services, whether the phone is busy, not answered or switched off.

Vodafone Visual Mailbox is available now free of charge to all Vodafone Mailbox users with a term contract. All they have to do to activate it is call 12051 toll free. Visual Mailbox can be used on MMS-capable mobile phones.
